THE TRUTH ABOUT FAT LOSS VS. WEIGHT LOSS

A lot of people think that fat loss and weight loss are one and the same. After all, they both involve getting rid of some type of excess, right? Wrong! Fat loss and weight loss are two very different things, and understanding the difference is crucial if you want to achieve your fitness goals.

First off, let’s define each term. Weight loss is simply the process of losing or shedding KG’s or pounds. This could be done through diet, exercise, or a combination of both. Fat loss, on the other hand, is specifically targeted at reducing your body fat percentage. Now that we’ve got that cleared up, let’s take a closer look at the difference between fat loss and weight loss.

When you lose weight, you’re not necessarily losing fat. In fact, you could be losing muscle mass, which isn’t ideal if your goal is to lean up, tone and become more defined. Muscle mass is actually more dense than fat tissue, so even though you might be losing weight, you might not be seeing the results you want in the mirror. On the other hand, when you focus on fat loss through diet and exercise, you’re more likely to see a decrease in your body circumference and an increase in muscle definition.

Fat loss also has some added benefits that weight loss doesn’t offer. For one thing, it helps improve your insulin sensitivity, which is important for controlling blood sugar levels. It also helps reduce inflammation throughout your body and gives your metabolism a boost.

So there you have it: the truth about fat loss vs. weight loss! If you’re looking to lean up, focus on increasing muscle mass and reducing body fat percentage. And if you want to enjoy some added health benefits in the process, aim for fat loss rather than weight loss.

At FIT360 we take a balanced and sustainable approach to improving your health.
